Passion is the most important, says Del Piero

Alessandro Del Piero, a 22 years old football players, who is always full with passion in the football field. He’s first important football tourment was the Indian Super League, which he began at Serie B side Padova and concluded with Delhi Dynamos, according to UTfifa15coins.com. He is 40 now and has become one of the super star in Juventus and the Italian national team.

While in Zurich in January to participate in the FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala 2014, Del Piero sat down for a wide-ranging interview with FIFA.com. In the course of the conversation, he shared his vision of the modern game, gave his take on the current state of Italian football and admitted flirting with the idea of becoming a coach.

FIFA.com: Having played professionally for 22 years, can you share the secret to staying competitive for so long?
Alessandro Del Piero: There are various factors, but first and foremost you need to look after the physical side of things. In my case it was even more important as I don’t have a particularly strong physique. I was always the smallest one, and all my life it’s been a challenge to prove that the smallest players can be strong and achieve great things. I’ve always been a football lover, very dedicated and really hungry to compete. I don’t know if it’s the secret but a key factor is having that passion to go a long way.

In the modern game, it seems as if classic No10s like you are being overlooked in favour of deeper-lying midfielders like Xavi [Hernandez], [Bastian] Schweinsteiger or [Paul] Pogba. Does this spell the end for the traditional No10?

Del Piero, passion

I wouldn’t say it’s the end, more of a transformation. Football has changed enormously in the last 20 or 30 years, principally in terms of physicality and player speed. Nowadays you have players who can operate in defence, midfield or up front. They have the versatility to play wherever they are asked depending on their coach’s tactical scheme. However, those great midfielders were also around in the past too, albeit with different characteristics. Players like [Franz] Beckenbauer, Falcao and [Carlo] Ancelotti had wonderful technique and boundless vision, and they used to operate a bit deeper than usual. So I think we’re seeing an evolution both in midfielders and defenders. In the past, these were often selected for their toughness but today frequently have great touch and ball control.

Having seen a lot of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ in your role as a TV analyst, what impressed you most about that tournament?
The German team. Physically they were at a very high level. Over the course of the tournament, they made significant changes – some even decisive – especially in the semi-final and Final. Tactically, they were impressive, while individually, they had guys playing at an incredible level – especially [Manuel] Neuer. Most importantly of all, it was very evident that they always had a common purpose. You felt they knew what they were doing.

Italian football is currently going through a difficult period. It’s not at the level it would like to be, as we don’t have the teams we had 10 or 15 years ago.

Alessandro Del Piero

At the 2006 World Cup, Italy beat Germany in the semis with you scoring one of the goals. Were there already signs that those players would go on to become world champions?

Del Piero, passion

That were a lot of talented players in that Germany team, although they were still very young at the time. You could see clearly that they had a brilliant future, but it’s a long road from there to winning a World Cup. Individually and collectively, it requires a very challenging evolution. Germany performed well at the 2006 World Cup and again at South Africa 2010 before being crowned champions in 2014. There was great merit in the whole journey, especially on the part of the players.

A lot was expected of Cesare Prandelli’s Italy side in Brazil. What went wrong?
Italy had a good opening game (Editor’s note: a 2-1 win over England) and showed everyone they had a quality side. After that they seemed to be taken by surprise and paid a very high price. But that’s modern football for you. Even the so-called lesser teams – among which you might include Costa Rica – are well organised and have quality players, not to mention enormous motivation. Italian football is currently going through a difficult period. It’s not at the level it would like to be, as we don’t have the teams we had 10 or 15 years ago. Italy are under a lot of pressure right now.

Would you attribute their World Cup elimination to a talent crisis?
People are talking about a talent crisis because our club sides are struggling to compete in Europe. Personally I believe there’s a big difference between Italy and other countries, both in terms of the football being played as well as organisation and systems within the game. That said, Italy has always found ways to respond, and I’m certain that we’ll soon see Italian clubs competing again for European honours and our national team having success once more.

With your clear and comprehensive vision of the game, would you consider a move into coaching?
Until three or four years ago, it hadn’t even crossed my mind, perhaps because I was so focused on being a player. But after I called time on my playing career in Italy, the subsequent experiences I’ve had – including getting the chance to travel and see things done differently – got me thinking about becoming a coach. It’s a tough role to take on, but without doubt a fascinating one. So… I don’t know. Perhaps. It’s a small door that was previously shut but is now slightly ajar…

FIFA 15 bugs: one fixed, another to deal with

FIFA 15 is one of the most popular football video games in the world and Ultimate Team mode is the most popular FIFA playing mode, which allows players to build their own football team with FIFA 15 Coins against their friends’ team on the pitch. However there are always some bugs in the game, which brings bad game experience.

It has been reported that these bugs are being ironed out by EA Sports and the affected players should be able to return to their teams shortly as EA fixes each account on an individual basis. The effected players need not fear that they fell too far behind on the pitch because EA has released a statement that there is some content that will be rewarded to everyone who lost time, as a reward for their patience.

FIFA 15 bugs

The reward is a sweet end to an otherwise bitter few weeks for the FIFA fan base that has seen the EA servers struggle to stay up. A few unforeseen internal errors as well as the aforementioned content freeze has left many players unable to play FIFA 15 online. Additionally there has been a growing frustration with the lack of functionality of the recently launched companion app for the FIFA 15 Ultimate team gaming mode. The app was functional, however trading patterns quickly deteriorated and EA has taken the market down until they can sort out a means to stabilization. The market was also removed from web services, leaving only in-game trades able to be completed. It has been two weeks since the market went down and app ratings have been taking a hit as users wait for their content to return.

None of this should derail an EA franchise that is riding a decade long high on nearly all of its sports gaming franchises. FIFA 15 used the tagline “feel the game” and although there have been some bumps and glitches along the way, it is clear that popular interest is only growing for these hyper-realistic sports games. Hopefully EA can iron out the errors it has found in expanding their platform to mobile and web content, and continue to grow the gaming industry.

Tutorial for penalties on FIFA 15

Many FIFA 15 fans ask for more tutorial to help them  to get hold of the game, although EA Sorts have already released some. Here comes a new tutorial teaching spot kicks, which is released by EA Sports last week, if you firmly grasp the key of this tutorial, you will save your FIFA 15 Coins and get more scores!

We wanted to do a little tutorial on how to score penalties on FIFA 15 every single time you take one, and this is what we’re going to be covering today. When the referee points to the penalty spot and awards you with a spot-kick, the last thing you want to do is end up missing it, especially if it’s a crucial one and ends up costing your team the game.

tutorial for penalties, FIFA 15

Step 1

It might come across as obvious but as we’re covering this as a step-by-step guide, we need to point it out. The first thing you must do is pick the best player that has the best penalty stats in your team that’s on the field of play. You can find this out by pressing the RT button on the Xbox 360, or the R2 button on the PlayStation 3. A hover down menu will appear showing you the full list of players and their stats at taking penalties, you should then choose the one who has the greatest statistic.

Once you’ve identified who your best spot-kick taker is going to be, you should select him to take them every-time from the main menu so that you don’t need to keep changing it every-time you go into a match.

Step 2

For the next step, you need to make sure that when the red bar is going sideways from right to left, and left to right, that you press the shoot button when it lands in the green centre. If you get this wrong, then the player will sky the ball into the stands and you’ll miss the opportunity of converting. Make sure that you get it in the green highlighted bar, and that’s the minimum that’s required in order to be successful at penalty kicks.

tutorial for penalties, FIFA 15

Step 3

When shooting, you must make sure that you get the yellow bar to three quarters of the way up, no less and no more. This will be a perfect shot with the accuracy maintaining, and the power also being maintained. If the gauge goes up to far or too less, then you’ll either put the ball over the bar or develop a truly weak shot. Get it to just over halfway to be successful all the time.

Step 4

When using the left-stick to move the direction of the ball, try to point it in a diagonal way to the top left or right, by doing this you for approximately one second, you will score penalties each time you take them. The goalkeepers can never get to these kind of shots and they’ll only be saved once in a blue moon.

Chelsea vs Spurs in the Capital One Cup final on FIFA 15

There was a wonderful virtual show between London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday afternoon in the Capital One Cup final. It was a pity to Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho that he failed in his first game after returning back to Stamford Bridge, Spurs haven’t won a trophy either, which would comfort Jose Mourinho.

The game will be hotly contested, with the Blues eager to avenge their 5-3 defeat at White Hart Lane on New Year’s Day. In preparation for the game we decided we would let FIFA predict what is going to happen in the final. We played out the final taking control of Chelsea and Spurs and proved to be a memorable final.

Chelsea vs Spurs, FIFA 15

As far as team selection concerned Mourinho decided it would be John Obi Mikel, not Ramires, to replace the suspended Nemanja Matic in midfield. The Nigerian played as the midfield anchor with Oscar and Cesc Fabregas just ahead of him. Willian and Eden Hazard occupied the wide positions with Diego Costa up front. Pochettino took Mousa Dembele out of the team following his disappointing display against West Ham and went with both Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb in the middle with Nacer Chadli, Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela behind Harry Kane.

The game started at a frantic pace with the man the moment, Kane, bursting through within seconds but after cutting back onto his right foot he fired his shot straight at Thibaut Courtois. The Belgian was then called into action, diving to his right to make a superb one handed save to deny Eriksen. Spurs were creating most of the early chances, with Eriksen in particular benefitting from the absence of Matic. The Dane was tormenting Mikel and after 23 minutes he lunged in on Eriksen to pick up the first booking of the match.

If Chelsea fans were starting to question Mourinho for including Mikel in the side they were soon singing his praises when Fabregas floated in a corner just before half-time which the midfielder powered past Hugo Lloris. It really was the only way that Chelsea were going to get into the game, a set-piece, and it was the perfect time to score. Eriksen nearly equalised straight from the kick-off but his looping shot was tipped over by Courtois.

Chelsea vs Spurs, FIFA 15

After the break whatever Mourinho said at half-time clearly worked because Chelsea came out with renewed purpose. They pushed Spurs hard and the second goal came when Lloris parried Costa’s shot straight into the path of Willian who made no mistake. Once again the instant response came from Eriksen and once again Courtois had to be alert to tip the ball over.

Eriksen then went close twice again, first tamely hitting the ball at Courtois but then a header caught the Belgian out but it came crashing back off the bar. This was a mirror image of an incident in the first half when some pinball in the Chelsea box resulted in the ball hitting the post, with Courtois’ goal leading a charmed life.

Chelsea looked to be closing towards a comfortable win in the cup final but they had reckoned without the force that is Harry Kane. With around 20 minutes to go Kane picked up the ball around 40 yards out, he dribbled past two players and then unleashed a shot into the bottom corner. Courtois will be disappointed he didn’t react quicker but it was a sensational goal from Kane and the moment of magic that his team desperately craved. All of a sudden they were back in the cup final.

Chelsea vs Spurs, FIFA 15

Mourinho decided to bring Juan Cuadrado on for Willian whilst Spurs took off Mason and Lamela, bringing on Andros Townsend and Mousa Dembele. In the 84th minute Eriksen was given yet another chance to score but his free-kick went agonisingly wide of the post. Having had to bring Ramires on in the first half for the injured Oscar Mourinho was wary of making another change, choosing to avoid romance by keeping Costa on the pitch rather than bring Drogba on.

However it was a decision that became totally vindicated in the dying stages of the match when Costa was set through on goal by Fabregas and he kept his cool to lift the ball over Lloris and seal the result for Chelsea. At the end of the game Chelsea players rejoiced around their unlikely hero, John Obi Mikel. Mourinho ultimately made the right tactical decisions and his team’s experience won out, Click into UTfifa15coins.com for whole video.

Martin Odegaard: missed on FIFA 15 upgrades

Martin Odegaard was supposed to move to Real Madrid on FIFA 15 on EA’s transfer update last month, which really make his fans feel excited so much, however some mistakes happened that Martin Odegaard was missed on the January upgrades

Martin Odegaard, FIFA 15

EA has been very quick to update all of the other player transfers that happened at the end of January, but for some reason there has been a delay in moving Odegaard over to Real Madrid.

The player is 16 years old and we initially assumed that it would be no problem in adding him into the game as any other standard transfer.

Given his age though, it appears that this may have caused a delay in putting him in Madrid’s squad, whether that be due to licensing, or some other reasons that haven’t been disclosed.

Martin Odegaard, FIFA 15

We can see that FIFA 15 players are also constantly asking EA when Odegaard will be added to the game and it does pose the question on whether EA are planning to wait until FIFA 16 instead.

Are EA delaying because they have been told to wait until Odegaard is playing in Madrid’s first team? How would you feel if we don’t see the player until FIFA 16 – can you wait that long?

FIFA under attack, claimed by a modified report

A breaking news shocks the football’s world governing body, whcih is related to UEFA and FIFA president Sepp Blatter, claimed by a modified report, causing a stir actually.  This news even makes football reforms was watered down in a sense!

Blatter faces strong opposition from European federations.

UEFA spokesman Pedro Pinto said allegations in German media showed that FIFA’s Independent Governance Committee “was anything but independent.”

FIFA under attack, claimed

Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein, one of three candidates standing against Blatter for the FIFA leadership, said: “There does appear to be evidence of interference in the drafting of the so-called independent Pieth report by FIFA.”

German magazine Der Spiegel reported that criticism of Blatter by independent governance committee chairman Mark Pieth was removed from his final report by FIFA’s chief lawyer Marco Villiger.

Blatter set up the committee in 2011 after a series of scandals.

Der Spiegel said passages which questioned Blatter’s leadership were removed from Pieth’s draft.

Text which linked Blatter to the ISL scandal, in which ex-president Joao Havelange and other senior FIFA figures were accused of taking bribes from the federation’s former marketing partner, were also removed the report said.

Pieth said he was aware of the changes to his 15-page draft report, which Villiger returned with 37 notes, as well as amendments and deletions.

FIFA under attack, claimed

“That is a normal process, FIFA has a principal right to hear what we publish about them,” Pieth told Der Spiegel.

Pinto, spokesman for UEFA president Michel Platini, said on Twitter: “The latest revelations regarding the Pieth report show that FIFA’s Independent Governance Committee was anything but independent.

“UEFA has always wondered why it was criticised by Mr Pieth and wrongly accused of blocking FIFA reforms.

“Now we understand why and where it all came from.”

Prince Ali, a FIFA vice president, linked the case to his demands for the publication of a report by US lawyer into the voting process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups which went to Russia and Qatar.

He said in a statement that the media reports “are a reminder of why we need Michael Garcia’s report into FIFA’s World Cup bidding process to be published in full.”

“There does appear to be evidence of interference in the drafting of the so-called independent Pieth report by FIFA. This is deeply worrying and suggests something is not right at the heart of FIFA governance.

FIFA under attack, claimed

“Without publishing the Garcia report in full, FIFA faces the ongoing public suspicion that interference may also have occurred in that case.”

Having been elected FIFA president in 1998, the 78-year-old Blatter is bidding for a fifth term in an election to be held on May 29 at a FIFA Congress.

Blatter is standing against Prince Ali, former Portuguese star Luis Figo and Dutch FA president Michael van Praag.

FIFA said that its Ad-hoc Electoral Committee had “formally admitted and declared the candidates eligible” for the vote.

All four “underwent an integrity check” by the investigatory chamber of FIFA’s Ethics Committee, said the statement.
