Realm of the Titans Closed Beta BeginsRealm of the Titans Closed Beta Begins

Aeria Games has announced the commencement of its DotA inspired MMORTS, Realm of Titans. There is no word on how long the closed beta will last but the dev team assures us that applications are still being accepted.

Realm of the Titans is a bold, new take on the popular action strategy genre. In ROTT, two teams of up to five heroes face off on a dangerous and dynamic battlefield in an attempt to take total control of the map. As each team advances across the field of combat, they seize control points that spawn waves of NPC minions to assist them in the conflict. Players who perform well in battle are awarded points that can be used during the match to upgrade their hero’s powers and abilities. The game is meticulously designed to reward teamwork and tactics, and encourage fluid and fast-paced competitive gameplay.

Fourth Anniversary Interview with Craig MorrisonFourth Anniversary Interview with Craig Morrison

It’s hard to believe that it’s been four years (on May 18th) since Funcom’s Age of Conan launched. We caught up with Game Director Craig Morrison to talk about where AoC has been and where it’s headed. Check it out and then leave us your thoughts in the comments.

MMORPG: What are your memories of launch? At that time what was the best part of the game for you?

Craig Morrison: I wasn’t actually on the team when it launched, so I was a spectator and player. Some of us on the Anarchy Team at the time were busy playing through the content, just like the hordes of players that descended on Hyboria at the start. I think we were all a little overwhelmed at how successful the game had been at attracting players. While of course, it was those expectations that ultimately left some players feeling that the launch hadn’t delivered, it was still quite an amazing accomplishment for a studio of our size. I think the only games that sold more copies that year were the Sims and Spore, so for me, stepping into that situation, and managing such expectations from so many people after the launch, was quite challenging. I went from managing two teams of fifteen people or so (Anarchy Online and Pets Versus Monsters) to heading up a project with over two hundred staff. So the game has been a huge part of my life for over four years now, it’s been an amazing journey.

Mike Morhaime made a somber announcement today on the Battle.net forums letting fans know that they’ve laid off approximately 600 employees, 90% of which were non-development positions (source). We wish all of the former Blizzard employees and their families the best as they move forward.

Mike did mention in his closing thoughts that they are still on track with all of their development projects, and a release data announcement for Diablo III is on the way “in the coming weeks”.

Launch Day’s Eve – Site Updates & What to ExpectLaunch Day’s Eve – Site Updates & What to Expect

The culmination of the anticipation from millions of fans has brought us here. We’re now on the cusp of Diablo III’s worldwide launch so I’m writing this post for general information on what to expect throughout the day on North America’s May 14th, which will spill over into Europe and Asia’s May 15th launch.

Database Updates

Diablo III’s retail client unlocks around 8am PST, which means it’s open for datamining. We will be taking the website offline for maintenance for what I hope will be a short period of time to update all of the sections with retail data. When the website comes back online, it will be spoiler city. We will keep any news we post protected with spoiler warnings, but if you decide to venture into quest, bestiary or zone sections, be forewarned that there will be spoilers.

Certain areas of the website may take a bit longer to update due to the processes we must undertake to make the data presentable. This includes NPC to Zone connections, hit points on NPCs, 3D models, and Zone maps. We are hoping to have the site 100% functional and accurate before the midnight launch in North America and will be working throughout the day to ensure we meet that goal.

Irvine Launch Party

One of our administrators, Sardis, will be flying down to crash Blizzard & Gamestop’s launch party in Irvine, California. He’ll be giving away free copies of the Book of Cain and chatting up anybody that wants to talk Diablo or to learn more about our website.

The Great Comment Purge of May 13th

As an unintended side-effect of a beta key contest we ran, many of you probably noticed the high amounts of less-than-helpful comments throughout the database sections. We spent the weekend filtering through and purging a large number of comments to prepare for launch. We apologize if any of your good comments were flagged as false positives and removed, but we felt this action was best to promote a healthy Diablo III community moving forward.

We have also reset the ratings on any comments in the Skill and Item sections. If a comment was rated higher than 1 it has been set to 1, if a comment was rated under -1 it has been set to -1. Due to the volume of new members during the contest that indiscriminately rated comments, it created a situation where it would be almost impossible for the community to self-moderate. We expect this decision will greatly assist our community in promoting helpful, informative comments and burying redundant ones.our prestigious company will fullfill any diablo 3 gold transaction with fast delivery, any fraudulent misrepresensation or fake statement will exterminated from our company, any customer who purchase D3 gold will obtain extra 5%-10% gold as the remuneration for frequently purchase

New Site Achievements

With the addition of our forum, many were wondering if we’d add a few new site achievements for activity there. I’m pleased to report that we enabled 4 new forum related achievements that are attainable on the 1st, 100th, 500th and 1000th post milestone. We’ve also added new achievements for submitting screenshots & videos on database sections.

Security ConcernsSecurity Concerns

Over the past couple of days, players have expressed concerns over the possibility of Battle.net® account compromises. First and foremost, we want to make it clear that the Battle.net and Diablo III servers have not been compromised. In addition, the number of Diablo III players who’ve contacted customer service to report a potential compromise of their personal account has been extremely small. In all of the individual Diablo III-related compromise cases we’ve investigated, none have occurred after a physical Battle.net Authenticator or Battle.net Mobile Authenticator app was attached to the player’s account, and we have yet to find any situation where a Diablo III player’s account was accessed outside of “traditional” compromise methods (i.e. someone logging using an account’s login email and password). We are a specialized, professional and reliable online supplier for diablo 3 gold selling. We have been supplying fast and cheap diablo 3  gold to our loyal and reliable customers for 7 years. If you want to buy diablo 3  gold or get the latest news of cheap diablo 3 gold, please come here. We provide not only the mostcompetitive price but also the safest delivery and the best service for your cheap wow gold. Hope you enjoy buying diablo 3  gold.

To that end, we’ve also seen discussions regarding the possibility of account compromises occurring in ways that didn’t involve these “traditional” methods — for example, by “session spoofing” a player’s identity after he or she joins a public game. Regarding this specific example, we’ve looked into the issue and found no evidence to indicate compromises are occurring in this fashion, and we’ve determined the methods being suggested to do so are technically impossible. However, you have our assurance that we’ll continue to investigate reports such as these and keep you informed of important updates.

The best defense against account theft still includes smart password management (e.g. using a unique password for every site/service and keeping your password to yourself) and scanning for malware and viruses regularly, as well as following additional preventative steps found here. In the end, while no security method is 100% foolproof, the physical Battle.net Authenticator and Battle.net Mobile Authenticator app are great ways to provide your account with an extra layer of protection.

We hope this update has addressed some of the concerns you’ve had. In the end, we simply want all of our players to be able to fully enjoy Diablo III, and we’ve been working around the clock to address issues as quickly and efficiently as possible. We appreciate your continued support and enthusiasm, and we hope you and your friends are having a blast slaying Sanctuary’s demons.

Guild Wars 2 : Crafting PreviewGuild Wars 2 : Crafting Preview

During this past weekend’s Guild Wars 2 closed beta event, we spent some time learning some of the intricacies of the crafting system. We’ve got some thoughts to share about GW2 crafting that you won’t want to miss. Did you try it? Let us know what you think in the comments. We are a specialized, professional and reliable online supplier for guild wars  2 gold selling. We have been supplying fast and cheap guild wars  2  gold to our loyal and reliable customers for 7 years. If you want to buy guild wars  2  gold or get the latest news of cheap guild wars  2  gold, please come here. We provide not only the most competitive price but also the safest delivery and the best service for your cheap wow gold. Hope you enjoy buying guild wars  2  gold.
Let me start by saying that I really enjoy crafting in my MMOs. I feel like it adds an extra dimension to the game. I enjoy the feeling of self-sufficiency being able to craft gives me and hey, the ability to help my guildmates with stuff doesn’t hurt either. So, it was without hesitation that after creating my Norn Thief this past weekend in Guild Wars 2’s first beta weekend that I set off to find some skill trainers. Around level six or so, I made my way to Hoelbrak, the Norn city and signed up with the Cooking and Leatherworking disciplines. Since GW2 thieves use medium armor, Leatherworking seemed like a good idea and, as in many games, cooking seemed like it would be practical for my own needs, guildmates, and to put on the market.
